Date: 6 August 2016. August Update.

A website friend named Marty wrote me this week. He said "I see it's raining down there today, and will bet you're keeping dry and cool. But it's been three weeks since last post so naturally I need reassurance you're ok. My vicarious serenity requires occasional updates from the Mistress of all she surveys." Here is what is going on in my world.

My world:

Mallard ducks swim by the boat. I love watching them in the rain.

Marty is correct about the website. I've been working on a gazillion (at least two dozen) articles. Few are complete. Many are lacking photographs. Pictures help bring to life my words. And frankly I've been up to my eyeballs in the air conditioner pieces.

Those a/c articles have turned into a monster. I worry that my writing is not "up to snuff" as folks have come to expect. Or at least I have!

They are finally done and uploaded though I thought that would happen a week ago.

In the meantime:

  1. I saved a boat from sinking (not really but to listen to the concerned owner...) and really the diver was a big part of the solution. Santiago was amazing.

  2. Continuing to help another boater get his stuff organized. He lived aboard but that's been years ago. In the meantime he's been in an acquisition phase and most of it has to go.

  3. Encouraging said boat-to-be guy to throw out Stuff not fix it. Time is not your friend.

  4. Bought a new phablet (10" screen, with a sim card for T-Mobile)

That is a whole 'nother article. Search (through this link
please) for Azpen 10 on Amazon. It's pretty amazing and now is my Navigation system with OpenCPN installed.

In my spare time a fellow I met back in Apalachicola wants OpenCPN. For him downloading the charts is a bit confusing. I made a flash drive for that boater with the program, plus charts, Coast Pilots and Chart No. 1. Now all I have to do is teach him how to use it.

Or start a business doing so for $$. Hey, maybe that's a way to generate income. I'll have to ponder that one.

Plus I've been reading. I'm addicted to Gutenberg and Amazon for the freebie books.

This Decadence thing is coming along nicely.

I'd love to hear what you do in the heat of August.
And, when does the weather where you are improve enough to be outside?!?

Every gift helps.

The Cruising Kitty is what boaters refer to as spending money. There's never enough aboard Seaweed!
