Blood from Captain Blood on 6 Jan '20

Look how cute you are in those pictures! Thanks for the information on how to remove blood stains. I have been battling this all my life so it is great to have a solution. So thanks very much. Keep up the good work.

Another Bilge Buddy! from Janice aboard Seaweed on 6 Jan '20

Greetings Captain Blood. Yes, it does seem like every boat project requires a bit of lubrication. Mine is O-Positive.

Frankly I had forgotten about the hydrogen peroxide trick until recently. I was particularly pleased to find out it worked so well in set-in stains. As for fresh, this is the miracle chemical. That it evaporates into water, leaving behind nothing dangerous is an added bonus. I am happy you found the vignette useful.

Thank you for your comment Sir. J.

Eureka! from Pam on 6 Jan '20

Great tip about removing blood stains with peroxide spritzes. I hadn't thought of that. I am prone to scrapes and such as some of my clothes testify. I even had a tiny, spare spray bottle that I can use. Thanks, for the idea, Janice. Wild weather is forecasted for the Northern end of the Mississippi this week. I plan on staying indoors as much as possible. ;)

It feels particularly cold here tonight from Janice aboard Seaweed on 8 Jan '20

It's not real cold Pam however there is a penetrating chill to the air. Perhaps it is dampness. Whatever it is, I've got my bunk preheating. I love love love my 12-volt electric blanket. In 15 minutes my bunk (and flannel jammies) will be warm) -- that truly does make getting under the covers a good thing.

I'm not one of those warm blooded people who can get into a bed and be find in a couple of minutes. My feet in particular stay cold. I have my socks tucked under the blankets too, preheating them as well. Warm socks, warm blankets, my pup and all will be well for the night.

Thanks for your kind not regarding the hydrogen peroxide. It means a lot to me.

Stay warm and inside. Cold weather is fearsome. On the bright side however, you probably know well how to prepare for storm conditions. This ability will work well should you decide to anchor out for longer periods of time. You already know what foods to have on hand when getting to the grocery store is not possible.

Drink hot tea (I'm becoming enamored with Lipton Bold of late) or chocolate, chocolate coffee -- whatever warms you. It is definitely bean soup weather -- or Taco soup. Maybe I'll soak some beans for taco soup. Hmmm... (but not tonight)

Thanks again Pam for your Comments. Your friend, J.
