I haven't heard Witch Hazel mentioned in conversation for years. Where I grew up everyone had a bottle in their medicine cabinet, but I never gave it a thought at the time. Oh boy!!! Can't wait to see her. 😃 "my beautiful miniature trawler Seaweed" It's supposed to be -9 degrees here tonight. I'm grateful for my cozy home right now. 😁
Yes, this was definitely not your usual "boating" website article. There comes a point in life where topics once considered out of bounds are, if not openly discussed with strangers in earshot, are talked about among friends. Often times some of my favorite memories took place listening in to conversations on the aft deck, or in the cockpit.
If at a marina, these would be "end of the dock" discourses, where all the world's problems could be solved with relative ease... if only we were put in charge! There is a marina, C-Quarters in Carrabelle, Florida, where these discussions take place under the shade of the porch out front. Boot Key Marina in the Florida Keys had a similar one out at the head of the dock by the fuel pumps back in the day. I've not visited there for decades though, so for all I know it has been replaced by something Fancy. Quite frankly though, I'm more a boater than a yachtsman.
As for baby wipes, why yes, they are a stocked item aboard Seaweed. Although I have not personally found the need to utilize Witch Hazel, I found the information illuminating. I remember a small container in our medicine locker. After learning of the medicinal properties, I added a pint to my locker too. Frankly though, if the 8 ounce size had been available I would have preferred that size. Alas, it was less expensive to purchase TWO 16 ounce plastic bottles than a single 8 ounce container. I have given up in attempting to understand. My choice was to buy the least expensive I could find, then give away the spare.

My goodness, Pam, that's awful. My bones are aching from here! I am relieved you are warm. We had a week of cold weather, and another is due in here this coming week.
I STILL have not had the new RV ac/heater mounted/installed. I'm hoping next week to get it on the overhead, mounted and secured. It has been sitting in a hallway for too long!
One thing I try not to do is "Ooze" as in spread my stuff far and wide. I am granted the privilege of being here, but that does not mean anyone wants to see my stuff strewn hither and yon. I've failed at that. Fortunately folks have been kind, but still, I hate it. I want my stuff on Seaweed, and installed.
Though I was advised by everybody that "heat pump" is the way to go/best system, the installation is more complicated. Plus I will need to have a soft start (so the power draw on starting is not too much) in there too. Plus a place for the water tank... anyway, it is complicated. For now, the goal is to get it on the roof, secured, with the upper and lower unit connected. The rest I can deal with (read: hire a professional) at a later date. I'm saving for that. The boat beautification project is $$$, worth it, but I need to slow down and save up.
But that is life, eh? All of us have to budget. I am truly fortunate that so much has been accomplished over the past few weeks. You truly might not recognize my girl!
The goal is to mount the RV AC (and heat) unit, then wait for some nice weather and head over to the American Legion, plus McDonald's, and Publix (our grocery store chain)... then get some pictures. That's the plan. Provided weather cooperates that is.
