I like your table cloth screens, Janice. They're pretty, help keep the mosquitos out, and add some privacy. Do they diffuse the sunlight a bit also?

To a degree Pam they do. Not enough in full sun however you're correct. The lace softens the brightness.
At two dollars I can live with the flowers. Fabric quality is such that I expect these to last a year or more. Hopefully I will have a better solution by then.
You see, years ago a fellow came aboard my boat. I asked him what he thought and he said "too girly" ... He was correct in that the valances we repurposed baby crib bumpers. To be fair to myself the did have fish on them. Anyway, I was not thrilled with them either.
His input helped. I hope that people visiting are comfortable. I try to stick with a nautical motif. Decorating via thrift store finds is fun, and inexpensive.

Alas Marsha had a stroke and did not recover. She and I were thrift store buddies too. What I remember most however is her laughter. She and her husband Kenny were always chattering and laughing. It really was lovely.
They found each other in Fernandina Beach, each on a smaller boat. After they married, they sold her boat and bought the Freedom. Freedom's have an unstayed madt. I liked the was they set up their bunk at the foot of the stairs, starboard side. They removed the dinette from the port side and left seating there for guests. It was done nicely.
Marsha had an eye for pretty things. She was and remains a friend. I miss her.
For me writing about and remembering old friends keeps them alive. I watch my old movies with their vibrant stars and realize they have mostly gone. They are comfortable though. Old friends as long as we remember them still live. So I remember, counting my blessings to be here.
I love life. My health kick from the previous article is a manifestation of the desire to continue long term. So far, so good.
