Bar stock keys from Pam on 3 Jul '20

Very interesting and informative, Janice. Thanks! It looks like MidWest Steel is in a town not far from me. I could drive over to pick up my keys. 😄 You have a good, safe, enjoyable July 4th!

That is cool Pam from Janice aboard Seaweed on 3 Jul '20

I remembered being concerned when I initially called that they were so big a little order like mine wouldn't be worth their time and efforts. It was a huge relief to be able to buy what I needed. And they cut it for me!!!

Stainless steel is notoriously difficult to cut and I was concerned. The man I spoke to back then was just so nice. Four years later I still remember his kindness.

Here it is hot. Summertime is best spent reading. Well, anytime is good for a kindle. Mine may indeed be wearing out. It doesn't always charge. That will be a sad day when I have to get a new one.

I will admit to being a bit interested in the newest waterproof paperwhite. My paperwhite still works though. From reading reviews I get the impression there isn't a big change between the two, excluding water and that's not really a problem. The paperwhite though is heaps better than the fire in that fire is a lot heavier.

A friend did pass along her kindle fire so when my paperwhite finally breaks I'll not be without while ordering a new one. I read at least an hour or two each evening in my bunk. Thank goodness for gutenberg.

I hope you have a great holiday. I have hotdogs.

hot dogs from Pam on 3 Jul '20

Are you sharing hot dogs with your bird friends?

Not MY hotdogs. from Janice aboard Seaweed on 5 Jul '20

For myself I buy Aldi's Kirkland brand of what they call Jalapeno Turkey sausages. They are hotdogs, however much lower calories and fat than regular ones. Besides, I actually enjoy the flavor.

Plus in 45 seconds they are hot and ready. Sometimes, okay... OFTEN I simply want food. Preferably relatively healthy food, too. Thay is where microgreens and my lentil sprouts come I to play.

Still. I enjoy meat. Tortillas are easy and don't go bad. The shelf life on flour tortillas is good too.

Bigger Bolder Baking on YouTube had a video on making a pizza on a stovetop in a nonstick frying pan. I'm not sure if will work, however if I can make a personal pan pizza using a tortilla as the crust...

Eons ago I used to make pizza in a toaster oven using tortillas as the crust. This BiggerBolderBaking method is not that different from my own so I'm looking forward to trying. If it works that would be a great treat.

Anyway, the dogs I ate yesterday are delicious. My birds won't ever have them. I hope your weekend was good. Your friend, J.
