I am on land now, in Virginia. I have feeders out for birds that are also visited by a cute little chipmunk. I had to make a cage for my microgreens because he was enjoying them a little too much. My husband made me some beautiful birdhouse for mother's day and I have enjoyed watching the nest building and feeding. I have a baby bunny that ended up inside the fence of my veggie garden that I didn't have the heart to throw out so I enjoy seeing cute little Bunnybunny. I think with being home and focusing on nature and wildlife is helping to keep me sane. I have always gotten much pleasure from the wildlife and have raised and released many injured or babies that needed a little help. It's a gift. Glad you find such pleasure in your world. I love reading about your bird friends, Janice. They know a kind soul when they encounter on. The photo of Isis perched on your wheel is either adorable or alarming depending on what she did after she got her hotdog treat - made a graceful exit back out the way she came in, or flapped wildly in Seaweed's salon trying to find a way out. 😄

Feeding birds is fun. The house in south Florida was a haven for critters. I don't believe that I have ever seen a chipmunk, except in the Disney cartoons starring Chip and Dale.

Gosh, I loved those two. I remember one where the boys were hidden inside Donald's Christmas tree. That one made me laugh. I do so love Christmas. It is my favorite time of the year.

Home built birdhouses are the coolest! How nice it is to have one. Congratulations.

As for your Bunnybunny, that's cute. We had a bunny too when the kidlets were young. Ours was named Useless, and was pure white. He ate my rose bush right down to the ground. I was not amused.

Basically Isis watched me get the hotdog box out of my reefer. I stepped into the cockpit and she flew out right next to me, landing on the top of the transom... within reach of the hotdogs.

She's smart. Isis also did not leave any deposits behind which is most excellent. It is also why I got up so quickly to feed her.

One oddity I have noticed is this: both the great egret Charlie and Isis catch the hotdog wafers in midair. Neither the great blue heron Ella nor any of the night herons catch food in flight. Nevermore the raven also catches midair. I am not certain why, but those observations hold true. All of them like the dogs though.

The only flapping wildly event I had was when Ella trapped Buddy inside my boat. He left me a present on my bunk which was not-so-nice. Washing bedding on a boat is time consuming. I need to do some so maybe that will be on the schedule for tomorrow.
