Good that you understant electrics. I have been doing elecrtical work these past few days on a 220 volt system, and I still struggle. I think there are power fairies in the wires and they get bored and full of mischief every now and then.
I swear that 12volts is SOOOO much easier than AC power. Tracing down why one leg of this 50'er has been challenging. Like all power projects, we started at the source (main panel) then to the power post. We now have power into the vessel... and into that dratted switch. Maybe. Double checking one more idea this morning. Hopefully I am right however until later...

The issues are fun in that I enjoy the challenge. Learning new things is interesting. Part 2 was just uploaded. I spent days pondering, all for naught. If only I had run the ding-dang book.
The good news is the problem has been isolated. The bad news is that it is an obsolete part from Austria, that accepts 8 awg wires, and a lot of them. There's a picture on the home page. That's a BIG switch.

I did notice Halloween appeared at Dollar (and a quarter) Tree. I bought two of the flat plastic pumpkin things for my Port and starboard pilot house doors. I'm waiting until October to put them up. I'll think of you then. And Brach's candy too. It is approaching the holiday season and I'm so looking forward to that.
Last year I lost most of my music and all of my radio theater shows. This was the first time in decades I had not listed to the stories. I did find them again on an old hard drive. It may sound trivial however this meant the world to me. I am so relieved to have them again. Anyway I've rambled on at the fingertips. Thanks for reading, and commenting. J.
