Clock from Prairie Trawler on 2 Sep '18

You are such a treasure. Love reading your articles. Please keep it up. You bring moments of quiet clarity to an otherwise crazy world.

Thanks for the compliment Cap'n from Janice aboard Seaweed on 2 Sep '18

Fixing stuff is fun. Some days it is a bit too much fun! Today was a good day, except for the idiot weekend warriors out throwing wakes.

Aboard Seaweed all is well. The weather seems to have turned. I feel autumn in the air.

Thank you Cap'n Prairie. See you on the waterways... J.

Patience from Pam on 3 Sep '18

You have much more patience than I, Janice. ;) Well done. Now, I'm going to be looking for my own 24 hour clock!

I will be more careful Pam from Janice aboard Seaweed on 3 Sep '18

Next time I won't say how "easy" it is to repair a clock. I learned a lesson with this one. Oh, and as for the clocks, I did a search of Google images and found 24-hour one-armed watches. Those are amazing. TOTALLY amazing.

I did look for a clock similar to my Weems & Plath -- found two on Amazon for $1000. Yes, you read the number of zeros correctly. Ouch. I know this clock retailed for less than $500 years ago. We had it before I bought Seaweed... probably back in the late 90's or early in this century. (Gosh that sounds OLD, doesn't it!?!)

That's it from rainy Florida. It loos like the panhandle (where Baby lives) will get to a visit from Gordon. I am watching the storm for her. Take care Pam and thank you for your comment. J.

That from Pam on 4 Sep '18

Yikes! I'll keep an eye out at antique shops and second hand stores (ya' never know!) I was wondering if Gordon was going to visit your neck of the woods. I hope you and yours are safe and there will be no problems. Take care!

All was well here from Janice aboard Seaweed on 8 Sep '18

The only thing I am seeing is that the water is not as clear as I normally see. Tides have not been extraordinary either. Of course Skipper and I are far from the impact area.

It is all good here. Thanks Pam for your nice note. J.
