I can attest to these yummy deviled eggs as I have had the pleasure of having them at a potluck you attended...they are indeed delightful! As far as what else can be done to deviled eggs, I have seen crumbled bacon added and it also was yummy! At Easter I will add food coloring to the mixture and make different color filling.
Having experienced your hospitality I can vouch for you too Cheryl. What a nice time we had at anchor. Right now I don't want to do anything except breathe.
So far there are no dead fish in the canal here. Also though, the small bait fish are gone. I'm seeing catfish come to the surface for the hotdog wafers my birds drop. The mullet are not jumping. Indeed I am seeing none. There was a manatee a few days ago but none today. No pelicans either. The only birds are my night herons, the two snowy egrets and a flock of ravens or crows. The osprey is gone and it has been here since I arrived. I saw a different osprey fly over this afternoon but it's not the one that's been here (different feather pattern on the chest)
Your idea of bacon in the deviled egg sounds good. I might try that too. I saw a sign (Pinterest possibly) that said "The only essential oil I want is Bacon Grease" . That made me smile.
Did you ever try the Pinterest thing where you crack the egg shell and dip the eggs in dye before peeling? I've done that using the dye tablets from Easter egg kits with minimal hot water. All the colors except yellow looked good. I've never done the yolks. That is a good idea.
Well, hoping to see you one of these days. I've got the hair (aloe) for your planter and a few other things tucked aside for you too. I don't want to take the boat anywhere with this Red Tide stuff in the air. This past weekend there was no boat traffic over here. Weird.
