Heater from Mickey on 1 Nov '17

We all know that you are on the balmy Florida Gulf coast so why would you ever need a heater :)) ?

Handy Heater from Pam on 1 Nov '17

Now, that's a nifty little heater. That you can run it off your inverter is a big plus. Like you said, have it on while getting dressed in the morning to take the chill out of the sir. As to your question about staying warm in the winter. There are some year round liveaboards here on the Mississippi in St Paul. From what I understand they take extreme measures to keep warm, and to keep their boats from freezing into the ice and being crushed. Fun times. Here's an entertaining blog of one person who does. http://www.dawnbrodey.com/the-captains-blog/1--so-you-live-on-a-boat.html

It gets right chilly here! from Janice aboard Seaweed on 2 Nov '17

Thank you Mickey for your message. Alas, it was a bit nippy here even last night. The best solution of course is to just go cruising. If cold, head toward the equator. When too hot, head away from the equator.

That's my recommendation: Just Go Cruising. Thanks again for your note. J.

What an interesting lady. from Janice aboard Seaweed on 11 Nov '17

Thanks Pam for the link. Dawn sure has an adventure. Gosh though, it is so cold up there. I had to put on warm socks just reading her site. Thank you for the link.

Here it is nice... I saw a bad cold snap heading through the northeast. For me, that 12-volt electric blanket was one of my best investments. I click the button so my bunk is preheated when it is the least bit chilly. Skipper likes it too. She is snuggling more as the temps drop into the sixties.

I had intended to take Seaweed out today however sanity prevailed. There have been a lot of boats out and I prefer less crowded waterways. On holidays idiots seem emboldened by beer. That is never a good combination. I stayed aboard Seaweed.

Hoping all is well and not too cold in your area. You simply need a boat girl. Then head south! That's my plan... New departure as soon after the St Pete boat show as possible. I could leave now but will putter around for the show. It ends on 3 December. So much for leaving in September! Argh. Thank you for the comment, and that link too Pam. I appreciate both.
