Fun lunch from Pam on 30 Dec '19

What a wonderful idea for a get together! I'm glad you and friends were able to do that. And great gifts!! There used to be a revolving restaurant in St Paul called the Carousel. It was on the 22 floor of a hotel. I went there several times. Spectacular view of the Mississippi River during part of the revolution. Excellent food also.

Thanks for your latest entry. I a over here in Ireland where it is bloody cold and will be for four more months, so I am envious about where you are and that you can sail comfortably 12 months a year. Your writing has a special quality to it, and I enjoy your articles each time they come out. Keep up the good work, lass. You really are special. DS

It was super watching outside as the world turned. We saw a fellow swimming along the shoreline, a sailboat heading north and more. Cheryl stated she and her hubby had watched a storm coming in one evening. I'll bet that was interesting too.

I admit opening the gift was cool. Cheryl is good at gifts! Some people are. Warm Christmas socks were included in the bag. I had seen similar and thought "I already have socks" and skipped by them. Well, putting on holiday socks is going to be a new tradition. It may be dorky, but I loved them.

These socks may be tucked away for next year. I've been doing the holiday dish towel for practically forever. I believe I'll add socks to the tradition. They were far more enjoyable than anticipated. Cheryl is way cool!

I am definitely fortunate. My lights are still up though later this week everything will be tucked away for another year. I'm almost done with Christmas articles. I don't want to bore those who aren't so enthusiastic as I am.

The ex is in hospice care, Baby is having a rough pregnancy, unexpected deaths have touched us including both old friends and new (Lou from this article!) It's been rough keeping the happiness up. My DVDs have helped. It's nice watching again the old movies.

For me hanging on to the joy that Christmas is has become more important. Usually I take everything down Immediately after Christmas. This year I need the comfort of happy memories, so I've left things up longer. Anyway, that's my world at the moment.

I am Very grateful for friends. The tablet I am using is one such gift from a friend. I'm writing (editing) the newest on a netbook from a reader. And I confess I'm worrying about the new Win10 operating system that is in my future. Argh. New stuff. Yuck. Am I becoming one of those 'old people' who can't or won't t get with the new times?!? Who knows for certain? I'll believe I will make a hot cup of cocoa and wander the internet or perhaps play some Free Flow or Flow Free. I like those games along with Sherlock Zen. I've been enjoying Sherlock since the days of Win95.

Thanks for reading my ramble, and for your comments Pam. Yiur friend on the coast, J.

Greetings to Ireland from Janice aboard Seaweed on 31 Dec '19

Thank you Captain Street. It is kinds of you to post a comment. Ireland is beautiful. I wonder if you watch an Irish lass who has a YouTube channel called Bigger Bolder Baking? She's interesting, in case you wondered. I am amazed by how good she is at microwave baking. Yesterday I adapted one of her ideas to make a spinach omelet. Today I'm going to try the same e thing with my microgreens.

Anyway Cap'n, thanks so much for sharing my world. I always appreciate it when folks post comments. They keep me motivated. Thank you Sir.

Stay warm! J.
