I very much appreciate how you plan long term, think things all the way through and then execute based on your vision of what you would like your life on Seaweed to be. Keep up the good work. You really are an inspiration.
A wise friend stressed to me the importance of putting resources into the best possible infrastructure I can afford. This has made a difference in my choices. Though a 5k btu ac wall-banger works, frankly the new one will be a serious upgrade. Like all things boat, this new unit will add a layer of complexity. The benefit is that if I'm at a dock in the heat of summertime I know the larger ac will be capable of cooling my home.
Seaweed is wonderful. I love the windows. What those great views also provide is a greenhouse effect inside. Though I utilize Reflectix, its not enough. Instead I have curtained off the pilothouse to afford the 5k btu air conditioner a chance at cooling the boat.
Fortunately at anchor the breezes make a tremendous difference. At a dock the boat points one way so I cannot catch those great trade winds. Such is life.
There's no way I would ever complain. I know how blessed I am. I have great friends, a cute boat, and a wonderful life aboard Seaweed. She is such a pleasure. Now if only red tide would go away!!!
Thanks for the comment Cap'n, and for your kind words. Both are appreciated. J.
