Good to read you again. And a great idea. I have to confess that my useful bits and pieces are in a dozen or so old icecream tubs.
Gosh, it is great to see your name again. The past couple months have been full of Life. Sometimes that can be a good thing. I missed writing.
Your collection containers are a great idea too. You've taken an item you had consumed and found another use for it. OBVIOUSLY you're a boater. Hahaha.
Every long term boater keeps their eyes open for containers. I believe that goes with the territory. We reuse stuff too. I am always on the lookout for smaller square containers.
Thanks so much for your comment Coen. I appreciate that. J.
Hi, Janice! I remember Beautiful; it is a lovely fragrance. I bet The Vermont Country store sells it also if your current source goes poof. I have several cherished, little containers for small stuff, but will need to determine which would hold up the best in a boat environment. That's good intel you provided on cord types. The small details make a big difference. I hope you and yours are doing fabulously!
One other thing to be considered is airtight versus permeable containers. Water and airtight aren't necessarily the best option. Having the bottom watertight is good in case water gets into the locker.
A completely airtight container can become a vessel for mildew and mold. One idea you might implement now is to start collecting the moisture absorbers that come with products. I have a small box of those and toss one or two in with electronics. Fancy dehumidifiers are sold. It's that same stuff though.
You may be familiar with the kitty litter crystals? That's the absorbers found in the little white packets And in some of the expensive dehumidifiers. In case you wondered... At one time I considered buying the crystal kitty litter and making my own packets. I don't need the quantity that would make, and goodness knows my waterline has enough issues.
It's great to hear from you. Your support is heartening. Thank you. J.
You have been missed. Thanks for another terrific and helpful article. This particular homage to Short Stuff is wonderful. I am always looking everywhere for small bits of line and now I have a way to organize it. So thank you, Miss Janice. And please keep up the writing. I need doses more often.
You've hit the nail on the head Cap'n Jimmy. If items are easy to access and stored well, projects are much more likely to be completed. I do spend a lot of time organizing my life.
My next task will be to cut some of that 1/8th" braid to replace wire ties. The boat next to me needs some too so while I make some for Seaweed I'll make extras. It is nice to share too.
I do thank you for the welcome back. I missed writing. Frankly the comments are motivational. Yours is important. So thank you for the nice note. J.
It is obvious from the comments from your readers that you are much appreciated and dearly missed when you disappear. We do not get enough of you. Please keep up the good work and stay in touch with all of us out here in water world.
I do miss writing... Well, actually it is the posting part. Baby gave me an iPhone7. Thanks to the coolest Verizon tablet, I understood Android. Android is so much easier. I am still learning the iPhone.
Getting there... This phone does take superior photos so that is good. Anyway, I am going to get some rest now. Thanks so much for your kind notes. I appreciate that. J.
