Manatees and Dolphins from Captain Sid on 18 Aug '21

Manatees and Dolphins are nothing short of amazing. I believe that they are a gift from the Gods and I truly love watching them play. Good luck with the quilt and with the NetBooks. And thanks for the new article. We always love hearing form you and getting a glance into Life Aboard Seaweed.

For me, watching the wildlife brings such joy. I love seeing manatees, dolphin and my feathered friends. A crow took a hotdogs from me yesterday. That was cool too.

Thanks for the good wishes re my Utilitarian Quilt. It is at the Good Enough stage though I will continue to make further reinforcements. I don't mind that it looks used versus showroom catalog beautiful. To me, the possessions I own are to be utilized as well as treasured. Having this quilt stowed pristine in a locker would be sacrilege.

The luck with this new netbook is needed. I'm still learning the quirks. Still, it fits on my desk, doesn't require much power (15 watts) so that far outweighs other choices. I am indeed fortunately.

With thanks for your comment... J.

Wildlife from Pam on 20 Aug '21

Having wildlife up close and personal has to be one of the most enjoyable aspects living afloat, Janice. I really enjoy and appreciate you sharing your critter encounters with us. I just got a new laptop and am also working at getting it configured to my liking, and learning the new location for the Delete key!

Sorry for delay Pam from Janice aboard Seaweed on 27 Aug '21

I just noticed the reply to you disappeared Pam. I apologize. Argh.

Learning the quirks is a problem for me too. So far I'm not able to sleep or hibernate the netbook. It shuts down. The only way I've found around that is to simply blacken the screen. Thay works (knock teak) so I am hopeful.

The good news is that red tide appears to be gone. We had a humdinger of a storm yesterday with lots of wind and serious wave action. The power was out too, so I unplugged from dock power and life continued without issue. Well, actually I could not run my ac, and because I still haven't installed the pure sine wave Inverter the microwave didn't work. Basically, if the item has digital controls, it won't work with square wave (the inexpensive ones) inverters. Anyway, power was restored so I went back to shore power. Life is good afloat.

Thanks Pam for your comment. It is appreciated. Your friend in the south, J.
