First start with the purchase of Calder's electrical book for baoters. THtaa will give you a bbasis to create your own ystem.

I wsh I would have run my primary 12v power centerline, on boths sides so I could more easily tap in for Power. I should hae ttilized 4 gauge between the daisy cahined buss bars. Instead I have bunches of 1 and 12 gauge wires for each thing I've added. I've added a lot ov er the past dozen plus years.

My batts are midshp in the  bilge, outbound of th eengine. I Definitely recommend the f you have to run the engine to charge, take  your boat out. Go soeplace to recharge both the batteries and to remind yourself why you have a boat. THus, eep things tidy so you can leave at  a moments notice. Ppurchase of a CO alar mounted high. If you overcharge our batteries, they will of-gas. The CO alarm wil let y know, before you ruin the batteries.

If you have to run the engine to charge, take your boat out. Go someplace to recharge both the batteries and to remind yourself why you ave a boat. Thus, keep things tidy so you can leave at a moments notice.

Secure your monitors. This may mean drilling holes through the base  and screwing it to your work station, or bolting it to a bulkhead. If it can tip over, it will.

Shelf lline works well at holding my netbook. I have a large gaming mat as the cover for my dinette. It stays in place and the shelf liner holds to ti.

Ventilatoin (so ithe computer doesnt overheat) is important. MY brik for the computer sits o an aluminum heat sink. TH enetbooks is on a tray so it geets beter airflow THose notebook fans may be great intheiroy but aboard aSeawee they were an expensive fail.

In brutal weather I Have a purpose bought fan that blos across my keyboard snad nebook. Try walmart fan aisle, and look for usb powere fans I have both sizes and so far have been impressed.

Always always buylarger gauge (smaller numbe) wire. Spools are your best bet fnancially. Try http://genuinedealz.com

AND eveyr place you install two wire,s place the red positive on the right. When you're woking blind, being able to feel positive will make your ife so much easier.

Every gift helps.

The Cruising Kitty is what boaters refer to as spending money. There's never enough aboard Seaweed!
